Return and Refund policy

At Mirelle and Co, we take pride in crafting beautiful jewellery designed to be treasured for years to come. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help.

Please read our Returns & Refund Policy carefully before requesting a return.


30-Day Returns

We offer a 30-day return period from the date your order is delivered.

To be eligible for a return, your item must:

  • Be returned within 30 days of delivery.
  • Be unworn, unused and in its original condition.
  • Include all original packaging, gift boxes, pouches, tags and accessories.
  • Be accompanied by proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt).

Returns that do not meet these requirements may not be accepted.


Items That Cannot Be Returned

For hygiene and quality assurance reasons, the following items cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are faulty or supplied incorrectly:

  • Earrings that have been worn.
  • Personalised or engraved jewellery.
  • Custom-made jewellery.
  • Gift cards.
  • Clearance, promotional or final sale items (unless required by South African consumer law).

Faulty or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives.

If your item:

  • arrives damaged,
  • is defective,
  • is incorrect,
  • or differs from your order,

Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at:

Include:

  • your order number,
  • photographs of the item,
  • photographs of the packaging,
  • and a description of the issue.

We’ll assess the matter promptly and arrange an appropriate solution.


How to Request a Return

To begin a return, please email:

Include:

  • Order number
  • Full name
  • Reason for return
  • Photographs (if applicable)

Our team will review your request and provide return instructions.

Please do not send items back without prior approval, as they may not be accepted.


Return Shipping

Unless the item is faulty, defective or supplied incorrectly:

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
  • We recommend using a tracked and insured courier service.
  • Mirelle and Co cannot be held responsible for parcels lost or damaged during return transit.

If the return is due to our error or a manufacturing fault, we will arrange or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.


Exchanges

We are happy to exchange eligible jewellery for another item of equal or greater value (price difference payable where applicable), subject to stock availability.

Exchange requests must meet all return eligibility requirements.


Refunds

Once your return has been received and inspected, we’ll notify you of the outcome.

If approved:

  • Refunds will be processed to your original payment method.
  • Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a confirmed manufacturing defect.


Manufacturing Warranty

All Mirelle and Co jewellery is covered by a 6-month manufacturing warranty from the date of purchase.

This warranty covers manufacturing defects such as:

  • faulty clasps,
  • loose settings due to manufacturing,
  • soldering defects,
  • manufacturing workmanship issues.

The warranty does not cover:

  • accidental damage,
  • loss or theft,
  • scratches from normal wear,
  • bent jewellery,
  • tarnishing caused by chemicals or improper care,
  • broken chains caused by pulling,
  • damage resulting from misuse, abuse or unauthorised repairs.

Where a manufacturing fault is confirmed, we will repair, replace or refund the item in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.


Jewellery Care

To prolong the life of your jewellery:

  • Remove jewellery before swimming, showering or exercising.
  • Avoid perfumes, lotions, chlorine and household chemicals.
  • Store jewellery in its original pouch or jewellery box.
  • Clean gently using a soft polishing cloth.

Damage resulting from improper care is not considered a manufacturing defect.


South African Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Where the CPA provides greater protection than this policy, the provisions of the CPA will apply.
